About Me

So who is this guy named "Dave"?  Well, I'm a 46 year old, caucasian, 6 foot tall, 160 lb male who enjoys motorcycling, outdoor activities, personal development, cooking, reading, long walks in the moonlight…

OK, enough of that.

To be honest, I am a mid-life "late bloomer" who - after cruising through the fields engineering, aviation and fitness - has finally found a path that arouses my passion and purpose.  The broad brush strokes are in place, and I've already gotten my feet wet; now the fun part begins...mapping out the course, then making it happen!

The really amusing part of my "Great Personal Awakening" to me is that it has almost exactly coincided with the "Great Awakening of Mankind".  I think most people are aware now - whether they want to admit it or not - that "this time it's different".  It would have been awfully easy for me to hang on to a pointless W-2 day job, to fund a 401k, and to head over the cliff with the rest of the herd.  But that's not the kind of person I am.

I may end up going over the cliff anyway; but if I do, it will be with full awareness of my situation and how I got there.  If there is one thing you can say about me, it's that I unswervingly face reality head on, no matter how scary it may seem.  I firmly believe the changes we are about to face are going to be beyond anyone's imagination (including my own…and I have a pretty damn good imagination!)

But I also believe what is coming is something to look forward to with anticipation and excitement.  Sure, the days of unbridled consumerism are over.  But I believe the days of Enlightened Prosperity are ahead of us…and in order to get there, my operating mindset is now one of resilience (for a great understanding of that concept, spend some time on Chris Martenson's website).  Thus, my current prime directives are building my reserves, shoring up my financials, strengthening my knowledge base, and maintaining a firm commitment to health and fitness.

And of course, I plan to have a little more fun along the way.  We tend to take things a bit too seriously down here on planet earth, no?
